Distortion and the traditional subject matter, these are the
characteristics of this art period. Cubism plays a big part to this period too.
Why cubism has a great part of this period?
There
are many types of cubism such as analytic cubism which has a trick of 3d effect
illusion and synthetic cubism which cutouts of materials such as newspapers and
magazine are formed together to form an art. At this period, sculpture artists
are so great that the cubism style is applied to this type of art. If you can
imagine cubism is only applied for painting and now it is applied to sculpture.
And has different and great meaning. I think synthetic cubism in terms of
painting is transformed to constructivism were such great artists made some of
these.
Many
artworks are questioned because of their meanings and the medium that they
used. Well, for me an artist must have unlimited ideas to get an unlimited art
outputs but despite of that I think unlimited boundaries must consider.
